Dave Grohl
The Foo Fighters Vocalist and Guitarist began his music career in the 1980s as the drummer for several Washington, D.C.-area bands. In 1990 he became the drummer for grunge group Nirvana. Following the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in April 1994, Grohl formed Foo Fighters as frontman and songwriter.

Nate Mendel
The Foo Fighters bassist began his musical career in the punk band Diddly Squat, then played in a number of reasonably popular punk bands. He was a member of Sunny Day Real Estate and Juno before joining the Foo Fighters in 1995 after Sunny Day Real Estate had disbanded.

Taylor Hawkins
The Foo Fighters Drummer was introduced to Dave Grohl after camping with him for several weeks in the Ozarks. He was voted "Best Rock Drummer" in 2005 by the UK drumming magazine, Rhythm.

Chris Shiflett
The Foo Fighters Lead Guitarist joined the band after the release of their third album, There Is Nothing Left to Lose. The first album he played on was One by One. Prior to joining the Foo Fighters, Shiflett was resident lead guitarist for the Bay Area punk rock band No Use for a Name.
